The Talampaya National Park is located in Argentina’s city of La Rioja, which is also the headquarters of the nations’ La Rioja province. This place became a provincial reserve in the year 1975 and later was designated a national park in 1997. Three years later in 2000, the Park became a World Heritage Site of UNESCO.
Spread over an area of 2,150 sq km, the park is situated at an altitude of 1500 m above the sea level and it is located at a distance of some 217 from the main La Rioja city.
